Galileo Galilei part 2

I really enjoy writing about my favorite band, Galileo Galilei. Last week, I wrote their profile so that this week will be about their musical style. They usually listen to the Western music basically. It means their musical root is also the Western music. however, if Japanese is put into the Western music, it sounds really strange to Japanese people. They are always struggling that contradiction. From that contradiction, I'll say there are 3 section in their music since they have made a debut. The first section is the alternative rock music section. Kazuki says before that he was inspired by BUMP OF CHICKEN (which is also my favorite alternative music band). So the section was made by there musical influence of the Japanese rock band). the second section is electronic section. They tried to move to Tokyo from Hokkaido when they made a debut, but they gave up soon. The reason is that the first section music was not the music that they really wanted to make. Therefore, They went back and start the second music life, which was electronic section. They learned how to play synthesizer and programing, and also two new members took part of it. The third section is the Indie Rock. The new members quit the band because the band went on the new section. They started playing guitars and drums instead of the synthesizers and keyboards. They use them sometimes now, but basically they make songs with only guitars and drums, but it is not like the first section.  

I like to catch up with them as much as possible. I'm really looking forward to seeing their music life.
